Location: It is a bit hard to find because my GPS put me right in front of a soccer field for some reason. Keep going down to the end of the street and you'll see a banner that says "pizza" near the entrance to their parking lot and across from some residential houses. The restaurant looks like a small house and is right next to a church. I walked in at 6pm on a Wednesday night and was hesitant for a second because I was the only person there. It worried me for a bit but before I could even process the surrounding, I was quickly and warmly greeted by one of the owners. Looking at the menu, I knew I wanted the Grigliata, grilled octopus, calamari and shrimp as an app. but had no idea how awesome it would be. By far, the most perfectly cooked/grilled seafood I've ever had on top of a bed of greens, olive oil, garlic and fresh squeezed lemon. This could easily have been a meal, especially with the warm basket of bread to soak up the oil mixture. Get this and share it with fellow seafood lovers and you won't be disappointed. I also ordered the rigatoni amatriciana which had pancetta mixed in the perfect red sauce. Yum! I can't stress how much the owner (the son) was concerned with my dining experience and made every effort for me to feel welcomed. In the middle of him running around, making pizzas and taking phone calls, I found out that the restaurant has been around for only 2 years. However, his family has been a vital part of the Italian Culture Center and the nearby community for a much longer time, cooking up delicious Italian dishes when they finally decided to open up an actual restaurant. It definitely has a real Italian feel, with his family walking in and out of the kitchens to the point where I felt like I was eating at their house. While waiting for my food I ended up watching Wheel of Fortune with his super Italian mother who would say cute things in English at the TV contestants. I would highly recommend trying this place out. Come show some support to some lovely people who really need it.

This is a family owned and run restaurant adjacent to Casa Italia in Stone Park. If you're looking for ambiance, this is definitely the wrong place. The interior reminds you of a banquet hall. But, if really good Southern Italian food at really reasonable prices are what you crave, you'll be very pleased here. The menu is reasonably diverse with antipasti, soup, salads, pastas, pizza (red and white), sandwiches and a couple of entrees. The night we dined, there were also a couple of specials written on a white board. Ten different pastas range in price from $10.95 for Spaghetti Pomodoro to $18.95 for Linguine Pescatora. Another option is the Build Your Own Pasta, where you choose your pasta and your sauce for $14.95. My wife tried one of the specials, Crab meat Ravioli with Vodka Sauce, which was really tasty. I ordered the Veal Saltimbocca. We started our meal with the La Salsiccia pizza, one of the many on the menu. This is the best pizza I have had in a long, long time. When I mentioned this to the owner, he suggested that it's the brick oven, and based upon the crispiness of the crust and the tangy tomato taste, who am I to question that. The owner is a native of Palermo, Sicily, and he and his family not only provide excellent food and reasonable prices, but there is a personal touch in the service they provide. It almost feels like you're walking into their home. In addition to several tables inside, there are additional tables on an outdoor patio that seems like an excellent option on a nice evening. We will definitely return to try other menu options.

My wife and I had the best Italian meal we've had in this continent. The gnocchi was so light and delicate with a wonderful vodka sauce and the linguine pescatore with a red sauce was simply amazing. This restaurant is a little off if the beaten path, but it is definately worth seeking out.

This is a hidden gem on the grounds of Casa Italia. We order pizza from here just about every week, and even my picky toddler devours it. We've also gone in for dinner and had pasta and some other entrees. It's a great, family run place with awesome food.

This is a great little Italian restaurant on a side street off Mannheim road in Stone Park next to Casa Italia. A bit hard to find but completely worth it. It is authentic Italian cuisine ran by a local family. My work had a Christmas party here so I got to try everything. My favorites were the pizza and vodka pasta, both were the best I've had in a long time. I also had lemon chicken, beef sandwich, sausage, and sub sandwiches. I would go back for any of these and the prices are completely affordable. I really like small places like these and wish more were around. I would absolutely recommend this place for lunch or dinner to anyone.

Wow! What a great find...little off the beaten path but worth every bite and penny! Plenty of parking, cozy setting and meticulous. Just wondering...was there music? Can't recall. Wine and beer only, decent selection. I was there with my "Cuzin"s Club" group and we ordered family style. Fried Calamari, tender and light, seasoned perfectly, Arancini...delish. Huge fresh and crispy green salad. A platter that had chopped tomatoes as if for a bruschetta topping, sliced and seasoned portobello mushrooms and fontina cheese. almost like a condiment platter to have with your bread...great idea!!! Assorted pizzas, all good...just a touch more fire on the crust though. Sausage and peppers with potatoes excellent, tasty and not fatty sausage, also grilled slightly crispy..perfect. Lemon chicken was like heaven. I did not actually do the ordering so forgive me for not knowing the actual names on the menu. Dessert...lightly fried dough rolls drizzled with chocolate and served with cannoli filling as the dip. and lastly, the whipped strawberry ice cream with a chocolate semi -hard shell coating. You can tell the heart and soul that comes out of the kitchen in the preparations. This family owned business is truly that!!! The family greets you and makes sure everyone is happy...just like home!!! Good Luck !!!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
